ALBERT 'DUANE' GALE
, 88, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Diversicare in Sedgwick, KS, after suffering a stroke. Duane and his wife Willa had lived in Park City, Valley Center and Newton. Duane was born November 7, 1927, in Wichita, KS to Myron Augustus Gale and LaVon Zetta Jester Gale. He was married to Margaret Ferguson from July 15, 1949, until her death on June 14, 1978; they had four children. He was married to Willa Morris Gordon from October 13, 1979, until his death; they raised three children together. Duane's family was a central part of his life, he showed his loving care for them in a number of ways throughout his life. Another central part of his life was his faith. Duane's love and kindness for everyone came from his love of Jesus and following Jesus' way. He was attending Valley Center Christian Church. Duane attended Wichita public schools, and was graduated from his mother's Alma Mater, East High. He graduated after first semester so he could join the Marines. He was stationed in Hawaii. After serving in the Marines, he graduated in 1952 from Friends University, Wichita, with a degree in business. After graduation, Duane worked for Boeing Computer Services for 37 years; he was a programmer, analyst, and supervisor. The last part of his time at Boeing was spent in the "Black Hole," and he could not talk about his work. Duane enjoyed photography, camping, music, and family. He was a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and he served in various in Boy Scout position for many years. He formed continuing relationships with Boy Scout leaders and their families. He also enjoyed his education and continued, after retirement, to take classes at WSU, like P.E. and Philosophy. Duane was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Margaret Ferguson Gale; his siblings: Stanley Gale, Marilyn Newman, Daryl Lynn (died as an infant); his grandson Mical Aaron Gale; aunts and uncles. Surviving relatives are his wife, Willa Gale; children, Cheryl Harader, Mark Gale (Roanne), Bert Gale (Nancy), Myra Snedeker (Larry), Bret Gordon (Michelle), Heidi Hart (Michael), Bruce Gordon (Emilie); grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Joanna Harader (Ryan Ellett, spouse, James, Jasmine, Grace); Matt Harader (Jenn, spouse; Jackson, Blake); Andrew (Autumn, spouse, Eleanor); Marli Wooderson (Cody); Maci Russell (Kurtis); Bethany Gale (Emma); Tim Gale; Chris Barger (Tyler, Samantha, Abbey); Troy; Shawn Smith (Blanka, spouse; Jonathan, Dylan); Heath Snedeker (Samantha, spouse; Sophia); Joe Snedeker (Cassandra Beamer); Amanda Snedeker; Jameson Snedeker; Rachel Gordon; Sarah Gordon; Isaac Gordon; Jacob Gordon; Danielle King; Kayla King; Addylen Moore; Malaki Moore; Caleb Fenn; Dalton Hart; Madeline Gordon; many other family and friends. Services 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 27 at Valley Center Christian Church, 1801 E. 5th, Valley Center. Graveside 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 1, at Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N.
