WILLIAM THOMAS REID

BEL AIRE, KS Reid, William Thomas “Tommy”, 70, Real Estate Management, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013. He was born in Wichita, Kansas to William Henry Reid and Lela (Kimmel) Reid. Tommy was a graduate of Wentworth Military Academy. He then attended, graduated and received his Master’s from Friends University, Wichita, Kansas. While in school, he started his property management and development business, RIMCO, which ultimately had offices in three states. In the early 80s, he created two additional management organizations, Bristol Fox Crown and Park Regency. He had a keen marketing mind and the ability to apply management techniques that brought about efficiencies. He had a wry sense of humor that everyone that met him enjoyed. He is survived by his wife Karen Reid; children, Matthew Reid and wife Amy of Valley Center, Ashley Cheung and husband Kin of Overland Park, Shelly El-Awawdeh and husband Raed of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and Christie McBride and husband Curtis of Herrington; grandchildren, Gabriell (Raymond) Gideons, Joshua McBride, Yusif El-Awawdeh, Summia El-Awawdeh, Ibraheem El-Awawdeh, Tariq El-Awawdeh, Alexis Reid, Katherine Cheung and Ian Cheung; great granddaughters who were the love of his life, Ava Noel and Kierra; sister Janet Christie and husband Craig of Leawood, Ks; many other family, friends and business associates. He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Lela Reid, and his sister Doris Mullen. Services will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 27 at St. James Episcopal Church, 3750 E. Douglas, Wichita, Kansas. Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center, Kansas. Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center has charge.
